Rajput Rifles clear Cyrene, December 1941
Here we see soldiers from the Rajput Rifles clearing the ruins of Cyrene, the Ancient Greek and Roman city that gave its name to Cyrenaica. The city was held by the British between Operation Crusader and Rommel's Second Offensive, when it was recaptured during his advance to the Gazala Line.
