USS Trippe (DD-33) leaving Queenstown, December 1918

Here we see the Monaghan class destroyer USS Trippe (DD-33), leaving Queenstown in December 1918. The long pennant is the homeward bound pennant, indicating that she was heading home at the end of a period in commission. Note the crewmen standing on the depth charge rack at the rear of the ship.
